Outside the trees were swaying, the clouds were racing
across the sky and the top of the bird feeder was
barely staying attached. It occurred to me that if I
didn't know about the force called "wind" I might
attempt to explain away all these occurrences as the
result of a "mystery" something.
Why, because there was no wind to be seen. No matter
how hard I looked I saw nothing that could explain why
the trees swayed, clouds raced, or bird feeder tops
rattled.

The things you learn are but vehicles serving to transport you toward further knowledge and awareness. You can therefore not necessarily cling to the things you learn, because they may become obsolete through changes in time and circumstances.
As a logical consequence to this, you should not be afraid to release thoughts, contacts, and perspectives, no matter how valuable they seemed at one time. For, responsibly releasing old thoughts, contacts and perspectives is a way to enhance your receptivity toward new, more rewarding ones in current times.

Most of the time I stand on my feet or at least my head is pointing up. Once in a while, using a nifty piece of gym equipment, I stand on my shoulders, and my head is pointing down. Every time I do this I am amazed at how heavy I am, and how little time I can stand the feeling of gravity pulling at me. Yet, when I stand the "normal" way I don't feel gravity at all. I am used to the influence of gravity pulling me down.
For about a week we couldn't get on the internet on one of our computers at our home office. I called the
provider and they couldn't fix it. They said there was
something wrong with our wireless card, but when we
visited our daughter in California it worked fine.

As we drove to work one morning we were celebrating the fact that it was a beautiful sunny spring day. Suddenly it wasn't. Within seconds we were surrounded by fog. We could barely see 20 feet in front of us.
Cars slowed down, car lights flicked on and everyone
became very alert and careful as they continued to
drive. Within minutes we had driven out of the fog
and once again it was a beautiful sunny spring day.

You may have been encouraged too to make lemonade from the lemons life throws at you. And you may have thought of it as a pretty encouraging statement as well. But have you ever wondered whether it's life that throws us those lemons or whether we're doing that to ourselves?
There are some times in everyone's life when things just don't seem to fall into place: loved ones decide to go their own way, business opportunities play hide and seek, and health is giving a colorful scale of reasons for concern.

Happiness: The Ultimate Egoism?
|
by Dr. Joan Marques
Ever been accused of being a selfish person for chasing your dreams and wanting to achieve them no matter what? Well, I have. And since I always thought of chasing dreams and reaching goals as expressions of determination and perseverance, this bold accusation set me to think. Here was someone telling me that my efforts to achieve my aims were built on egoism!
Suddenly I laid the link between happiness and selfishness. For, isn't everybody ultimately striving for happiness? And doesn't happiness have as many faces as there are people in the world? Isn't happiness tailored to what we expect from life?

This is a compilation of the most essential messages from my recent articles, from patience as a virtue, to the perception of freedom as a target that is harder to achieve than many seem to think!
Patience is a virtue, especially when facing the everyday tackles of life. Therefore, once you made your choice to establish yourself in one location, go for it, even when things get a little tough. Don't forget the cumbersomeness of your previous environment, so that you start over-romanticizing it, and encounter the irresistible inner-desire to go back.

Judged and Frozen By Numbers
|
by Beca Lewis
Are you judged and frozen by numbers? As Financial
Coaches, Del and I work in a world that makes a point of seeing and judging everything through the lens of counting numbers. Numbers of people, numbers of dollars, numbers of appointments, numbers of sales, numbers of years, it's all about numbers. If our clients, or we, don't have the right numbers then "it" must not be working.
Of course, this is true everywhere isn't it. Success
is measured and reported by the numbers. How young, by numbers, do you look, how much money, in numbers, do you have, how many people, in numbers, have you helped today, how well, by numbers, has your money performed today, how many numbers of income did you earn, how
many numbers of people love you, what's the number of homes, toys, clothes and cars that you have? What
number of hours do you have to work to earn a living?

Live Your Life to the Fullest
|
by Michael Lee, CPA
Do you sometimes feel that you're living a boring life? You just can't seem to find anything exciting.
You wake up in the morning, then do the same old rituals. You go to the office or to school. You meet the same people, do the same job, travel the same road, booooring. Next day, same story.
Do you want a change in your life? The solution is YOU! You're the master of your destiny. You decide if you want to have a change or not.

Until I understood humility knew it you know only what you have experienced I thought it connotated humiliation and embarrassment. However, I have been working with some Wayne Dyer material and I have now learned another definition of humility. I now know humility.
The best description I can give you is transending the ego and detaching from self. If one truly has humitlity one is not at risk of embarrasment or humilation. When I first tried to be humble I said, "you mean I have to stop having things my way?" "I have to stop trying to be right even if I am right?" that is going to be tough.
